Anna Leigh Ashford
Annaleigh Amanda Ashford has been an American actor, dancer and performer since the beginning of the 1990s. Early Broadway parts included Wicked Legally Blonde & Hair. Her performance on stage in You Can't Take It With You as Essie Carmahiel was rewarded with the Tony Award in Best Featured Female Actress in a Play. Annaleigh Ashley is a Tony Award winning actor and actress, has worked with actors and directors in stage and on screen throughout all of her career. Ashford will be next starring opposite Kumail Nanjiani on the Hulu limited series Welcome to Chippendales from creator Robert Siegel premiering on November 22. Ashford is currently in the making of Searchlight Pictures' terror thriller Dust which also features Sarah Paulson. The film will be available through Disney's DTC platforms and will be available as a Hulu Original. It will be released in 2023, March. Ashford will return to Broadway and will be starring alongside Josh Groban in the revival of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. This show will be produced by Thomas Kail and produced by Jeffrey Seller, the team that brought you Hamilton. Ashford's last role was as Paula Jones on Ryan Murphy FX's American Crime Story Impeachment. The show is based on the national scandal which involved Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky, and Linda Tripp. For two seasons, she was a star of CBS's hit comedy B Positive. Also, she was a part of the popular series developed by Marco Pennette Chuck Lorre, which featured legendary actors Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo Ben Vereen. A veteran of Broadway Ashford has been awarded both the Tony Drama Desk Award and the Outer Critics Circle Awards with her character Essie. Sunday in the Park starring George Wicked and Legally Blonde are amongst her additional Broadway credits. Ashford was raised and born in Denver and now divides the time in Los Angeles, and New York.
