Jenna Fischer has become best well-known as Pam Beesly, the character she portrayed on The Office. For her character, she was awarded two SAG Awards in Outstanding Ensemble Comedy and an Emmy Award for the Best Supporting Actress.
In Fort Wayne Indiana, she was raised in St. Louis Missouri. Jenna was a spectator as her mother Anne took part in plays at church. Her love for performance and theatre was cultivated at a very little girl.
Following the conclusion of The Office, Fischer, who is a trained actress in the theater, went back to her roots. She starred in the Off-Broadway show Reasons to Be Happy which was written and directed by Neil LaBute and co-starring Josh Hamilton, Leslie Bibb, as well as Fred Weller. Then, she starred in Steve Martin's new show Meteor Shower. It was an absurdist comedic piece opposite Greg Germann and Josh Stamberg and ran for an unprecedented time at the Old Globe Theatre.
In October of 2019, Fischer and The Office actor and friend Angela Kinsey started an online podcast called Office Ladies on the Earwolf platform. The podcast has since been a huge success, landing on the Top Ten globally every week and receiving over 200 million downloads over its initial two years. Office Ladies took home the iHeart Radio Podcast of the Years award in January of 2021.
She is the writer of two books: The Actor's Life: A Survival Guide In it, she details her journey to St. Louis to Hollywood to become a working actor. She is also the author of Office BFF's: Tales of The Office From Two of the Best Friends who were there (co-authored by Angela Kinsey) This book provides an account of their most memorable relationship and their time for The Office.
